Mary Harrington and Benjamin Boyce SiTe/NeFi duals

The tension and resiliency in the relationship here looks like it's going to be veeery interesting. She's higher health but a quite austere version of SiTe--probably creative subtype, and heavy Ni role--and as of 10 minutes in he can't smarm charm his way out of the fact that he's ultimately a lightweight like he usually does. He's out of his depth; she needs him so she can relax. She's much less uptight with him than in the three other videos I've seen of her; he's taking in her Si about as comfortably as a medical procedure. Whereas she has very found Ne intellectually, but not affectively, and he gives her access to this buoyancy, despite at times looking like he's on a visit to the proctologist. But hey it's only been ten minutes!

Of course the problem for him isn't really the Si per se; it's her very heavy Ti demonstrative that goes with the package, and her lacking Fe 'aura' to make it easier for him to process this Ti with his PolR. So the Si itself just seems to overwhelm him but it's more than that. Or anyway that's my interpretation.

But.they'll manage. You can tell by how it first opened. Have dual, will travel.

Now at around 20 minutes she has to give him a different aspect of Si by 'proving' to him her assumption that bodies have limits. Ne dom confirmed for Benjamin Boyce lest any doubt might have lingered from the original brouhaha.

It has been a delight to reread the EF Benjamin Boyce thread, and the read went quickly too. I highly, highly recommend it.

In that thread the issue of NeFi shifting sides came up, which is related to delta extraverts in general 'moving the goal posts' (such as Mark <TeSi> Laita of Soft White Underbelly). And this is what Benbo is doing at around twenty minutes by challenging Mary about her biological essentialism.

This is a gratuitous challenge; he's just doing it to 'keep his options open'. And it's political, so he can, as an "NeFi interviewer", continue to be 'that guy' who gives everyone the mic with ease.

The EF thread discusses toward the end how many NeFI's do things like this and how they're 'omnisociosexual'--erotically charged by and reflexively seducing 'everyone'. The thing is, that doesn't work with Mary. He's uncomfortable.

Take note: it doesn't work because she's his dual.

He has to try harder. We shell sea.

By 40 minutes he's made her be much more concrete than she has been elsewhere; she's totally stopped rambling and theorizing. She knows she has to hammer the Si into his wooly head. She also doesn't have the luxury of letting her hair down while she does it so she isn't lightening up either. She has to be more grounded to ground him.

I just reread it and i really couldn't agree more !
Will go back to it again soon, among other things because i want to take another look at his video with Renaud Contini (who turned out to be his likely conflictor).

I watched about 25 mins of this one so far. I'll finish it and comment on it soon.
