Type the Tot #1
Re: Type the Tot #1
TeNi, in my (admittedly relatively limited) experience, can be obviously hedonistic or obviously puritanical, or an obvious combination of both, but the polarity seems to always be there in the realm of 'happiness and fun'. This seems to be because Se just being in 'it' must be earned from the toil of Te via Ni. So whether they are having fun or fasting, also whether they are promiscuous, monogamous, or celibate, you're going to know about it. Freddie seems task-oriented in everything, including his pleasures--with every task also admitting possibility of being stopped or failing. And I actually think one of the reasons the Internet has been so kind to Freddie's legacy, why he is taken more seriously now than before, is that with the availability of videos on YouTube, everyone can see how hard he was working at his 'play' ('play' in both senses of the word).

What he is saying around the 4'05 mark about the fights between the four band members might seem beta-ish, since beta quadra is the one that is well known for its internal struggle for leadership;
But what he is describing is pretty different from what happens in beta quadra.
He is talking about ights between four individuals with equally strong personality (Fi).
4 irreductible, implacable individualities;
And that does fit gamma.
In Beta, on the other hand, the competition for leadership happens when a leader is failing at his job toward the collective.
And then it's the tribe (Fe) that will remove its leader and replace it with another one, more apt to the task.
And btw that usually happens only "in time of peace", when the stakes are relatively low. (You don't turn against your leader during war time).
edit : post crossed. Reading up.

That sounds absolutely right to me.Roshan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 3:00 pm TeNi, in my (admittedly relatively limited) experience, can be obviously hedonistic or obviously puritanical, or an obvious combination of both, but the polarity seems to always be there in the realm of 'happiness and fun'. And that reminds me of Joseph Campbell's (also TeNi) "Follow your Bliss".
Yes, that makes a LOT of sense imo.Freddie seems task-oriented in everything, including his pleasures--with every task also admitting possibility of being stopped or failing. Queen is very unabashedly a product. We are told this explicitly by Freddie over and over in interviews. Musicians who change society like John Lennon have something more than talent. Queen is a talented band. The audience should enjoy the show and then discard it when it's over.
@6'17" Track 3. Lyrics below. They are more than Te role.
Let Me Entertain You
Hey it's a sell out - hey
Let me welcome you Ladies and Gentlemen
I would like to say hello
Are you ready for some entertainment?
Are you ready for a show?
Gonna rock you gonna roll you
Get you dancing in the aisles
Jazz you, razzmatazz you
With a little bit of style
C'mon let me entertain you
Let me entertain you
Let me entertain you
Let me entertain you
I've come here to sell you my body
I can show you some good merchandise
I'll pull you and I'll pill you
I'll crueladeville you
And to thrill you I'll use any device
A ha ha ha haa
We'll give you crazy performance
We'll give you grounds for divorce
We'll give you piece de resistance
And a tour de force of course
We found the right location
Got a lot of pretty lights
The sound and the amplification listen
Hey if you need a fix if you want a high
Stickells I'll see to that
With Electra and EMI
We'll show you where it's at
So c'mon let me entertain you
Let me entertain you
Let me entertain you
Let me entertain you
Just take a look at the menu
We give you rock a la carte
We'll breakfast at Tiffany's
We'll sing to you in Japanese
We're only here to entertain you
If you want to see some action
You get nothing but the best
The 'S' and 'M' attraction
We've got the pleasure chest
Chicago down to New Orleans
We get you on the line
If you dig the New York scene
We'll have a son of a bitch of a time
C'mon
Let me entertain, let me entertain
Let me entertain you tonight
Hey where's my backstage pass ?
Hey that Brian May he's outta sight man
Hey that was a bit of alright wasn't it
Outrageous costumes
Not many not many
And I always wanted to be in opera
Oh man I could give you lessons if you like

Re: Type the Tot #1
First impression is definitely Se agenda. In the first few minutes of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzooK4wUqMs&t=1s I was leaning towards FeNi, but am starting to lean more towards TeNi producing individuality.
"You either sort of hear it in it's entirety, or you you pick another song". In the interview he continues at one point talking about how he understands how the audience will judge them by their last album, but is more focused in his belief of his own ability to write better music (Fi>Fe). He also says he believes in leaving the interpretation to the listener, which sounds like being aware of other peoples Fi as well. Though 'multiple interpretations' could be vaguely alluding to Ti parsing of definitions or Ne possibilities, but I think here he meant acknowledging others individual perspectives despite being aware of what the 'collective audience' may feel overall. "I wanted to write a song that was very cold and calculated, and kind of to the point (T>F)... I wanted people to participate (using Te efficiency achieve Fe role)". I did watch more of the interview but I'll pack it up for tonight.
