Introduction to our CognitiveTypology system

Post by Vincent »

In this WIP thread i'll expose the basics of our cognitive typology system.

The intent here is to give people a single place where they can look at to situate us in this field and/or to get started with our ct.
And to grant ourselves a single reference thread we can link when we need to.

In time, this will get moved to the Study Hall.
Bolded expressions will be turned into internal links.

In a nutshell :
Our cognitive typology (ct) system is based on Carl Jung's Psychological Types.
It can be considered a synthesis of MBTI and Socionics.

On MBTI's side, our model acknowledges the pertinence of Harold Grant's stacking and the importance John Beebe's concept of the shadow.

Our understanding of quadras and intertype dynamics, as well as slot behaviors is based on Socionics and derived from it.

tbcd

Basic concepts :
Our ct system states that there are
-four distinct domains of cognition : Sensing, Thinking, Feeling and Intuition
-and two orientations of cognition ; Introversion and Extraversion

which, combined, defines eight cognitive functions

Those cognitive functions synergizes together in specific patterns and processes, which defines 16 personality types

tbcd.

The issue is with the ordering Vincent. I just don't want to hear another person whining and whingeing about how come we call the demonstrative the sixth when Model Whatever doesn't. So we use Grant's nested axes with alternating intro/extraversion and we use which or whose socionics model for the numbers of the slots?

Vincent? ? ? (over a year later)
