Re: Marta Becket, dancer of Amargosa Opera House
So... my typing journey with her started with a first impression, based on photos, that she could be TeNi.
Then it became progressively clear it didn't work and i moved her to the introverted side of gamma quadra, hesitating between NiTe and FiSe, and leaning more toward the later.
Now the more i watch her the more i wonder "might she be delta after all ?". The insistance on preserving the past, some of aesthetics and her professed classicism could easily be delta, especially delta introvert. And her "message to parents" also kinda sounds like "clipped wings complex". Now if she is indeed delta, the only type that could possibly work, i think, would be SiFi. And we do have Jane Goodall, who also followed her dream to the middle of nowhere and build an empire out of it, as one of those.
tbcd.

I also thought she seemed TeNi at first but with the interviews I posted later moved to FiSe. I did not think she could be NiTe. What puzzled me about FiSe was the content of her art, which does not seem gamma, and if she isn't gamma she has to be delta. But no delta type seemed to fit. I had not considered a major jumper. SiFi is very plausible. And she does have her school marm moments.
Of course it would help to have her on video (or even audio) in her younger years, but all we have are still photos. The other option would be to read her book but it isn't cheap. Though it isn't very expensive either, but, as we discussed, it would be more with shipping it to Europe.
So we'll see what else, if anything, we come up with, as also discussed with Vincent.
ps Look, she even made a couple of VHSs of her performances that are on Amazon. And the documentary "Amargosa" is $3.99 to watch. But I have a feeling it won't reveal more than we already know.

Oh, wait, here's her autobiography on archive.org. It's in small letters though and even enlarged it's not easy to read. But it isn't that hard either.
And oc if you have a bigger screen than me, it will be bigger.

Re: Marta Becket, dancer of Amargosa Opera House
Here are the board members of the Amargosa Opera House. The woman is the same one who interviewed Marta above, and I'm not sure if she's an actual board member but she worked with her on dance for years. She seems to be ESFJ and that would be Marta's supervisor if she's SiTe. It's harder to imagine this happening with gamma, in the opposite quadra from alpha. And the whole flavor of this trio seems more likely to gravitate around a delta than a gamma. fwiw.
Re: Marta Becket, dancer of Amargosa Opera House
Now on the subject of Marta Becket's Enneagram type, I would give her sp/sx 3w4-6wX-1wX, with the sp more on the SP/sx side, that is, quite sp heavy. It is a stretch to conceive of a Three setting up shop in the middle of nowhere in the torrid heat but I can't think of any lead she could be but 3w4. So it has to be a function of her stacking.
And indeed she kept her eye on the prize. Amargosa Opera House is a non-profit organization with revenue of over a quarter million dollars a year. I guess it could be argued that if she had never been discovered by National Geographic by accident, she never would have had the success she had. But that happened soon after she went there (she went in 1967 and the NG people came in '70) and it can also be argued that if they hadn't come, she wouldn't have stayed. I guess.
