Okay, let me make this a little easier--or harder, but at least expedite this process.

I think he's an obvious 9 (aw shucks, gee gosh willikers style) and I also think he's an Si lead--though I considered all the ST's EXCEPT SeTi. I'm not convinced he has 5 > 6 though he certainly could. I also don't think he seems ultimately like he could be anything but alpha or delta.

I may be right, I may be wrong, but at least it's what I think. So carry on amongst yourselves about what you think and how your thinking evolves, and with Amy too. Not about developing a groupthink.

Like Anthony, I ruled out Ti polr fairly quickly because he's a "computer guy" and a very successful pioneer.

But you thought he might be Ti inferior ?

Anyway,i wanted to say a bit more to retrace my steps last night but i conked out.
I think a big part of what happened is that i felt right from the start that this guy has something i really don't have, and immediately concluded it was going to be Te or Se, or both, in the front stack.
Then i got stuck in confirmation bias and didn't consider at all that Te polr might be an option.

Now the more i rewatch it, the more obvious his Si becomes, and the more convinced i am that he is some kind of alpha-delta.

At this point SiFe seems more likely than SiTe to me, but... his pointing and karate hand gestures bothers Vincent me.
And i'm still not completely convinced he is not an extravert.

I'd only seen two clips of him before the one I posted, which just seemed to expand on them and didn't change anything, and nothing 'early enough' was coming up. But this one just popped up on my yt home page. It's not THAT much earlier but it's pretty different--so I suppose at this point you may as well look at and post any other materials. I haven't even finished watching this yet let alone processed it; I just want to post it now and say it gives a new impression.

Off the cuff, it fortifies my impression that he has 6 > 5; tbc I thought he was triple attached with heavy sp, and if he turned out not to be 9 lead either of the other fixes would lead. This left open because I realized he was quite old to be typing him, but 8 never crossed my mind because he's really very Ninish in the op video. But not AS much to me here. Also tbc I really felt the choice was between SiFe and TeSi (the latter of the very TiSe aura ones, but I barely considered the reverse). However the more I watched, the more Si he seemed and I wasn't delighted with Te PolR (although I COULD make a good argument for it). So I wound up making it between the two Si's, though I was even less delighted with Fe PolR than Te PolR. There were no other types I could see.

What bugs me about this thread isn't whether or not he's a 9 (or Si dom, or whatever). It's that regardless of the regardlesses, there are objectively plenty of reasons to type him as a 9 from the OP video, and they're not hard at all to articulate. So if I had disclosed my opinion to begin with, would the reasoning behind the other two 9 (not to mention the non-Se dom) votes have been so shrouded in mystery and mist?

ps fwiw I thought from the OP he had pretty balanced wings on 9 and 6, which I assumed were the first two fixes--with the 3 fix all the way in 2. But I veered toward 1 wing on the 9 and 7 on the 6, while being aware that the whole thing didn't quite fit together and not knowing what to do with that. Now so far he still seems like a 9 to me but with heavier 8. He still seems Six fixed, even more than before, and that 6 actually seems even more Sevenny. I mention this because Vincent thought he was on the 7/8 line and that may be where the 7 impression came from.

Also the 9 here seems more obviously very highly integrated to 3 (as one would expect it to be). He reminds me quite a bit of Bill Clinton, whose typing is disputed between 3 and 9, though I go with a clear 3, and who is usually said to be 7 fixed but seems obviously triple attached with 6w7 to me.

And you honestly specifically are now 'leaning toward' 8 lead instead of a 5 fix since he seems to have rejection because...?

Well, I'm not inclined to think 8 lead works anymore. Suffice to say, I saw Vincent's opinion and thought "well, he probably has a better reason than I for thinking 7/8 line." Groupthink. Then I rewatched just enough of the video to take a closer look at his face, re-listen to his voice, recall his home estate with the guard dogs and all, and hallucinate similarities with Johnny Cash and J. Paul Getty. Ridiculous of me.

It's not true that I didn't have reasons to think he was 9 leading. In essence, I thought it for [at least part of] the same reason you did—"aw shucks, gee gosh willikers"—and ironically enough, I'm almost positive that it's why I began my post with "Heavens to Betsy! Oh my oh my."

Lastly, I don't think I was actually seeing rejection (despite that he technically has some). From the get-go, I figured he had a not-completely-insignificant amount of 8 going on (at least as a wing on the 9), some 5, and 3w2(2w1), all owing primarily to energetics—which I really shouldn't trust myself with so much—and what appeared to be a sort of...independent, "thick skin, letting it roll off the back" orientation that I've occasionally attributed to rejection in the [quite distant] past, but it's really just high Sp and 9w8. Again, that was completely ridiculous of me, and not an error I'd usually make. I'm not sure of the head fix yet, but I'll watch the latest video and figure out what I think.

I'm not so sure that's really what he does, but even if that was the case, vague answers to memory-based question are not necessarily indicative of low Si (despite what Eric Strauss would like you to believe). Some SiTes do that, depending on the topic, and SiFes do that even more. If anything, it's probably more Fi related than Si related.

Yeah, fair enough. Although, when I first watched the video, it wasn't JUST that he gave vague answers to memory-based questions. At one point, he answered to a memory-based question with "it doesn't really matter...," which struck me [albeit superficially and probably incorrectly] as revelatory of his orientation to Si in general, that it "just doesn't really matter."

He seems so extremely energetically grounded and concrete—a real country-style hick (as he basically says), and pretty much everything he says is of the same nature. TiSe was what I considered most heavily, but honestly, not for the best reasons. Upon watching, it seemed to me that he had that sort of...well, his speech patterns seemed revelatory of some natural "TInkering" orientation, which I had based only on prior observations of Ti heavy typing subjects.

It could be. At first, the particular way in which he was "tinkering," along with his speech patterns as I said, seemed potentially revelatory of some natural attentivity to granularity and first principles of 'concrete space,' if you will, giving way to manipulation of the concrete world in the manner seen with SeTi and TiSe. I thought he had a BIT of Elon Musk in him, though once again I probably hallucinated that. It could just be TEchnique; after all, most of what he emphasizes when talking about his technology is just cause and effect, or reaction and response ("when this is the case, just do this," like the math teacher from hell for all Te PoLR people).

The words he chose to describe the boss who fired him were, iirc, "totally nuts" and "too irrational," which upon listening struck me as possibly coming from Ne PoLR and reacting to it with Ti stoicism.
Also, probably for obvious reasons, it was hard NOT to see him as ST.

Those reasons are not that obvious to me no. One thing most STs do, and TiSe probably even more than other STs, is to specialize. They find "their thing" and they keep doing it. I don't see that with him.

Mmmm, fair enough, but with a successful TeSi for instance, is it not easy to imagine them "branching out" since their success yields more opportunities to capitalize on different stuff and begin other ventures? Nevertheless, I didn't type him as TeSi, but the reasons I thought he was ST basically amounted to "obvious sensor" and "very proficient TInkErer."
