Compare the "I am never broken" of 2 Pride to this song by a Four. Envy comes from shame over defectiveness.

And here is 2 Pride, shamed and broken, but oscilating between 4 Envy and 8 Lust (for Power over), so not all THAT shamed and broken after all....

Pride, to Envy and Lust.
I still very much have a lot to chew on the types, this is probably of the first times I concretize too.
At a certain point, I thought that 2 had a line to 5, and I would keep making that mistake even after knowing it's to 4 and 8.
Something seemed to make some sort of sense and only later would I know about the rejection triads being a thing.
Similarities with 9 always seemed to pop when I'd try associating. Both to me seem to have an "attachment" aspect however,
with 9 moving to 3, the process seems more akin to an incarnation that holds itself up as the final prize.
Yet, I don't really think the 2 attaches itself to you as much as it goes the other way around.
"You are indispensable to me" is the response they expect to get.
And as 5 removes attachment to any particular altogether and it transmits the code ,
I assumed that'd be the line movement. But I think what I was mistaking is Avarice gaining Omniscience vs Pride gaining Humility.
That is, if they do get to the humble part, Jewel is never broken, she'll never be useless
And always benevolent

And Torri, even though she flips the relation and sees the defect in herself, looking at what the other has and she lacks (4)

Yeah, and if you haven't already, just really commit the groupings in the Object Relations triads to memory. Attachment: 369 (the triangle); frustration 147; Rejection 258. Note these are all perfect triads formed by equilaterals, and think about what the names (taken from OR psych) might mean and how this relationship to the 'world of objects' (including people) manifests.

Well, you may as well also learn the 'Hornevian triads' now too, taken from Karen Horney; otherwise more confusion will be sown, so: 378 Assertive; 126 Compliant; 459 Withdrawn. 2 is a rejection compliant; 2w1 is double compliant and 2w3 is attached on the wing. Six is the only type that is both attached and compliant, so what might the difference between attached and compliant be?

Okay, yeah I thought there was still something wrong with that.
I thought of it in terms of Idea -> Virtue -> Passion getting more distorted moving down, then people moving back up.
So I guess with that
Avarice -> Non-Attachment on the path towards Omniscience. That one makes sense but
Pride -> Humility on the path towards...Will?

e-ssam, It's not hard for me to distinguish between compliant and attached, but I've had to give a lot more thought than I expected to differentiate the operant psychic meaning of the OR triad group from the Hornevian. Grappling with that, I wound up making a triad subboard in the Study Hall and I'm working on an overview of the tritypes. It helps so tbcd.
About compliant and attached, compliants don't necessarily comply with people; what they comply with are ideal, abstract, internalized standards of behavior. These may require (or seem to require) compliance to people, but they may also 'require' rebellion, being that guy who won't salute, etc.--which is why I call the 126 tritype "Comply And Demand". Attachment I see as a sort of existential stance in favor of object constancy (in the Freudian sense of the non-self, the 'world of objects' including people). The base metabolism of the world of objects is seen as stable; to lose or have one's world radically changed, to be forsaken or deprived, to encounter evil, are all seen as aberrations (which is not the case with frustration and rejection triaders). Even for 3, "Ego Go", at average competitive levels, on a fundamental level humanity and relationships should be salvageable, and people. places, and things should stick around.
