@17'57" to 19'36" exemplifies the demand part, which may be especially obvious when the One leads. Novelist Lionel Shriver doesn't experience herself as compliant at all in the colloquial sense. Going along to get along is more archetypally attachment; compliancy is to one's own internalized standards, not to what others do or how one is seen.
