Jordan Peterson and Helen Lewis interview

Post by Roshan »

This interview is a few years old and has over 50 million views and 750,000 likes.

They seem to be dueling unequals, both with very integrated shadows, with him (TeNi) being her (SeTi) benefactor. So when he's in TiNe she becomes his Se supervisor and when he's not and she's in high SiTe she's still his Si supervisor and so on...And they are both really up for a fight, so despite most comments saying he won and the thumbnail conveying she won, this match ended in a draw. And so in the video their facial expressions and body language as captured in the thumbnail are frequently reversed.

She had her axe out from before the interview

I don't think I have ever seen Peterson focus on being that pedantic in an interview like this one.
Helen didn't let him run off with "well it depends on what you mean by..." sort of responses.

Well, i don't doubt she was ready for a war. Se doms usually are.
But i suspect he projects a bit more hostility into her FI polr than there actually was.
Helen didn't let him run off with "well it depends on what you mean by..." sort of responses.
I suspect it has something to do with Ne role (vs Ne 6th). If healthy, it will resist rmost attempts to move the goalposts or shift perspectives abusively (or demonstratively).

Anyway, the comparison Joe Rogan does with the early days of the UFC and Gracie family Ju Jitsu is interesting.
But he (Si ignoringly) doesn't say why the Gracies were able to dominate so easily at the time. It's not so much because their art was intrinsically superior. It's because the ruleset of the UFC pretty much guaranteed that fights would end up on the ground. Most martial arts just went with the rule of thumb that if a fight ends up on the ground, it's over already, so they never trained nor specialized for that. The Gracies dominated because they were more than willing to go there, they were trained and specialized for it.
Seems to me that it applies pretty well to Peterson's case. It's not just that lots of his early opponents underestimated him, It's that they were not willing nor ready to "go there" to begin with.
