Norman Finkelstein Redux

Post by Roshan »

Old thread from Enneaforum

Norman Finkelstein has been a frequent guest on talk shows since the Israeli invasion of Gaza following the Hamas attacks of October 7. In this interview with Mikhaila Peterson (Jordan Peterson's daughter), after a long impromptu history of the conflict, he (TeNi) literally explains to us how he delegates his inferior function, Fi. He says, from 1:48'28"-1:55'31", that he's good at analyzing facts but isn't competent at making moral judgements--which would require the full study of moral philosophy--so he usually turns to Noam Chomsky for guidance. But Chomsky wasn't available after the Hamas attacks so he turned to the abolitionist, William Lloyd Garrison, to see what his response had been to the Nat Turner slave revolt, which Finkelstein sees as an analogous situation. When he saw that Garrison didn't say anything negative about it, Finkelstein knew what his own moral judgement about Hamas should be.

Also illustrative of his ct are the facility and expertise with which he tells the relevant history in bare bones terms, replete with data (Te dominant function) starting at 57'45" and ending all the way at 1:45'03", and how he doesn't miss a beat when Mikhaila asks him a very "elementary" question at 1:55'42". He does soften up and immediately adjusts himself to what he realizes is his target audience (Fe role).
